Kingswood Trees are kindly supplying the village with a Christmas Tree at a reduced price. This will be put up by the Ulcombe Village sign, near to the entrance to the Village Hall. Wrap up warm, bring a torch and let's all meet at 6pm at the tree. We'll light the tree up and then all walk to The Harrow for refreshments and a village social get together.

The Crazy Crafty Chicks 🐥 of Ulcombe.

Meet in Ulcombe Village hall on the first Monday of each month at 7pm.
Next meeting 6th December.
We are a very friendly lively bunch who enjoy a giggle, natter and a love of crafting.
So if you have a hobby or craft that is mobile we would love to welcome you.
The cost is £3.00 to cover hall fees and refreshments. So come along, share your knowledge or learn a new skill or just come along for a natter.
Looking forward to welcoming you to this lovely group.

A Commemorative Plaque for Saint John Henry Newman at All Saints, Ulcombe

Cardinal John Henry Newman spent the summers of 1826 and 1827 staying in Ulcombe with his friend, the Rev Samuel Rickard and when the Rickard family went on holiday, Newman looked after the parish. He was  canonised two years ago.

The Committee of the Friends of All Saints, Ulcombe (FASU) have decided that it would be appropriate to erect a commemorative plaque on the garden wall of Ulcombe Place by the footpath to the church to say that Newman had stayed in Ulcombe and on Sunday the 12th of December at 3pm there will be an unveiling of the plaque by The Lady Colgrain, Lord Lieutenant of Kent. This will be followed by tea in the church which is being kindly hosted by Jane and Anthony Bourne. Charles, Lord Moore of Etchingham, who is attending, will make a short speech about Cardinal Newman.

All parishioners of Ulcombe are cordially invited to this event and we do hope that as many of you as can make it along will do so!
